Overview

GeoData for Jira introduces a new method for adding location data to your issues.

Not only does GeoData give you the ability to associate locations with your issues, it also allows you to visualize your tickets on a map, providing a fresh perspective for viewing your issues.

You can filter the issues you want to see with the help of datasets.

Furthermore, you can modify the markers representing your issues' locations, making it easier to differentiate them on the map board.

GeoData for Jira features

  • Create issues with locations — if you need to have an overview of the geographical location of your issues.

  • Add location to an issue.

    • As of version 4.2.0, we changed the functionality of location custom field in such a way that only one location can be added at a time. However, if needed, you can still add multiple Location custom fields to an issue.

  • Pinpoint a specific location on the map or choose the suggested closest address to your placed marker — so that you can be as specific as you need.

  • Search for a location using the provided search field — if you want to add a location based on a known address without the need to use a map.

  • Add, edit, or remove location from already created issues.

  • Edit the display name of your location to help you better recognize the location on the issue preview.

  • Map Board — when you need a quick overview of the locations of your issues.

  • Create and edit datasets — datasets are groupings of issues based on selected attributes.

  • Filter issues from a dataset displayed on the map — to help you focus on issues you are really interested in.

  • Use custom markers with your datasets — so you can easily distinguish issues from different datasets.

  • Create routes — you can combine multiple locations into route.
