Using the Map board

The Map board can be accessed by clicking the Apps button in Jira’s top navigation bar and selecting the GeoData option from the dropdown.

Map board overview

The map board has 3 main parts: the main area and left and right side panels.

The left side panel contains the list of your created datasets and the toggles to activate them. Below the dataset list, there is the Manage datasets button, which will take you to the dataset management screen.

The main area shows a map with the locations from activated datasets. Clicking the location markers will bring up a popup with additional information about them.

Buttons that control the zoom level of the map are in the top left corner. In the top right, there is a control that can be used to switch between configured Tile servers.

The right panel contains two toggles—the Fit map to dataset bounds toggle and Show only items within the map’s bounds toggle—and a list of issues from activated datasets.

The Fit map to dataset bounds toggle makes the map adjust its zoom and position so that all markers are visible.

The Show only items within the map’s bounds toggle filters the list of issues from activated datasets so that only the ones whose marker is currently visible on the map remain.
