GeoData Asset map custom field type
The purpose of the GeoData Asset map custom field type is to allow users to fill Assets objects containing geographical data into Assets objects fields using a graphical interface.
GeoData Asset map fields require the GeoData for JSM Cloud companion app to be installed and properly configured. For more information, please read its documentation here: https://eea-sk.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/GFJC/pages/5080809473
To set up a GeoData Asset map field, follow these instructions:
Create an Assets objects field and configure it. To learn more about how to do so, please refer to Atlassian’s documentation here:
Create an Assets object custom field | Assets | Atlassian Support . Currently, GeoData Asset map fields support filling in only one Asset, so we recommend keeping the Field can store multiple objects option disabled.Create a new custom field and select the GeoData Asset map custom field type from the advanced section.
Find your custom field in the custom field list, click the ••• button at the end of its row and click the Contexts and default value option. On the next screen, click the Edit custom field config link.
You should be looking at the fields configuration screen. Add one or more datasets which you want to display on the field’s map into the Select datasets field. Only datasets with Assets as their data source are available. If you don’t have any datasets yet, please read about them here: https://eea-sk.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/GFJC/pages/5033361434
Add the field you created in step 1 into the Select associated asset objects custom field field. The selected field will be automatically filled with an object selected via the GeoData Asset map field upon issue creation.
Add both the Assets objects and GeoData Asset map fields to issue types where your wish to use them.
Having both the Assets objects field and the GeoData Asset map field visible at the same time may be confusing to your users, so you may want to consider hiding the Assets objects field. For regular projects, this can be done via the Show fields menu in the Create Issue Dialog. In Service Management company-managed projects, you can achieve a similar effect by adding the Assets objects field to relevant Request types' Issue views, but not their Request forms.
The field should now be properly configured.
Please note that it may take a short while for the associated field to receive the value selected in the GeoData Asset map field.
Usage
To select a value for the field, click one of the pins shown on the map and click the Add button in its popup tooltip. To remove the value, click the Remove button next to the selected value under the map.
The field currently only fills its associated Asset map field upon issue creation. Updating its value on an existing issue will not affect its associated field.
