GeoData customfield configuration for Jira Service Desk
This section describe how to set up GeoData Customfield for Jira Service Desk.
Customfield configuration
If you have already created Geodata customfield in Jira, then you can proceed to its next configuration for Jira Service Desk. Go to the configuration of the customfield “Location” through the configuration.
As a first step, you have to activate the customfield for the ability to use it in the Jira Service Desk. Click on "Edit Service Desk configuration", which will enable the custom field in the Jira Service desk.
You need to be familiar with the conditions that this functionality requires — possible security breach: If you enable this field for Service Desk, any logged in Jira user will be able to read value of this Custom field in any Issue.
After enabling the customfield for Jira service Desk, you have also to set up in which issues and under which project this customfield should be displayed to you. In your case, you specified it under the “Service Request” and “GeoData Test Service Desk”. To this option you go through the button “Applicable contexts for scheme: Edit Configuration”.
Go to “Field Configuration” and choose to make the customfield “Location” visible under our Service Desk project on the screen.
Check the desired screen on which you want to display the customfield.
If you have set up everything correctly in the create issue you will be able to create an issue with “Location”/
How to configure customfield for portal
You set up the portal via configuration in Jira Serve Desk. Go to “Request types” and choose the field you like to create on the portal, either by creating a new one or editing the existing one. However, you need to be careful which type you choose in the customfield configuration.
Under the “Edit fields” option on the selected field, you will add a custom field to the specific request. Click on “Add field” and select the specific required field from the zone in your case “Location”.
After setting up a customfield on the portal, check whether the field is displayed under a specific request on the portal.
Note: If you also like to display the location point on the Dashboard map gadget and Map View, do notforget to create the appropriate filter and include it in the GeoData datasets.
