Creating an Issue with GeoData localization
This section describe two ways how to create Issues with the location of GeoData for Jira.
Creating Issue with standard CREATE button
The first way to create an issue with a location is through the standard option to create an issue on top.
After clicking on the CREATE button, and listing the requisites that are required to create an issue, we will go to the customfield “LOCATION” created by us (in your case, this field may have a different name) and start working with the map by hitting “Set location” button.
After displaying the map, you have the opportunity to create points, lines and areas. The map is, of course, zoomed out, so you can do the following things. You zoom the map either with the + button in the upper left place, or you can also use the search bar and write the exact address if you know what you are interested in. The search bar will offer you more addresses with the same name, but also in other cities if they are located there. The third option is to use the mouse scroll and zoom the map.
After searching for a specific place either through the search bar or manually, you have the following options for creating a place on the map.
Draw a polyline — mark a certain part of a street, road, or highway, you use polyline
Draw a polygon — mark a certain irregular area of the streets, city, city districts you will use a polygon with multiple points of the location
Draw a rectangle — to mark a regular square on the map then you can use the default square rectangle
Draw a marker — mark an exact point on the map, in this case you will use a direct point on the map
Edit layers — marked points are created but you found that they need to be modified, you can use this option. This option is only available after a point has been created
After successfully creating a location point and then creating an issue, the point will also be displayed on the Map gadget and in Map View.
Creating Issue via Map View
The second way to create an issue with localization is to use the Map View interface under GeoData in the top bar. GeoData → Map View.
After viewing the Map View page, you need to center the map to the full screen area. (do not scroll the map but the page of Jira)
On the Map View you have the possibility of several actions and these are as follows:
Zoom IN and Zoom OUT the map thanks to the two buttons + and -
Search for specific locations on the map thanks to the magnifying glass
Creating points on the map:
Draw a polyline — mark a certain part of a street, road, or highway, we use polyline
Draw a polygon — mark a certain irregular area of the streets, city, city districts we will use a polygon with multiple points of the location
Draw a rectangle — to mark a regular square on the map use the default square rectangle
Draw a marker — mark an exact point on the map, in this case you will use a direct point on the map
Edit layers — marked points are created but you found that they need to be modified. This option is available only after a point has been created!
Datasets you know from the Dashboard Map gadget that help filter selected datasets for issues
List of created issues with details and the possibility to create a custom JQL filter for the given issues. This table is hidden at the beginning, it is necessary to click on the two arrows showing “rolling out”
Heat Map — Representation of issues in the form of the map in which data values are shown as colors.
After finding the location and selecting the location point, the map display:
The exact address of the location point

Create New Issue button and Cancel button
Edit Layers — Ability to edit the point by scrolling through
Magnifying glass — to change between Datasets or address search bar
After clicking on Create New Issue you will be redirected to create a new Issue with the already specified location.
By filling in all the requisites and pressing the Create button on the issue, new Issue is created.
